In March 2014, for our efforts in the two above-mentioned businesses, we were honored to be chosen as a 100 Global Niche Top Company by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It is for us an enormous joy to be widely recognized and appreciated in such guise for our management policies. In May 2015, due to housing land development connected to the internationalization of Haneda airport, our headquaters moved from Ota Ward, which had sustained us for about 40 years, to the Yokohama Industrial Park where we had originally been established. As a base for development and the pursuit of productivity, this is the kind of environment which will allow us to push forward more energetically than ever.
There can be no doubt that the globalization of the market and the progressive vanishing of borders will continue even in the future. Unfortunately our country, Japan, has entered an era of population decline. However, when we turn our eyes to the world, we see countries where population and markets are steadily growing. In this new age, our company is determined to keep up with the growth of the global market by strengthening our global system even more and by continuing to provide quality goods and services to our customers around the world. Then, moving away from the equation "Manufacturing = Machines and Products," and shifting from being a "Manufacturer" to being a "Consulting company" valued for its advising and proposing power, while continuing to keep products as our core business, we will keep providing "value" to our employees and customers alike. 2

Main application of hydraulic cylinders for molds
They are built into the die casting and plastic molds used for producing automobile engines and other parts and are used when molding complex shapes.
Hydraulic cylinders for molds Molten aluminum
Core
Mold
The mold is tightened and the core is moved forward by means of the cylinders.
Molten aluminum is cast into the mold.
After the aluminum has solidified, the core is pulled out by means of the cylinders.
The mold is opened and the casting, for example an engine block, is removed.

Rotary joints perform the role of supplying fluid to the rotating unit. In the steel industry, where they are mostly used, equipment failure can be as crucial as in the aircraft and railway industries. They are used by major manufacturers in Japan and overseas, contributing to the prosperity of the steel industry. They are also used for tunnel excavation shield machines, highway tunnel blowers and exhaust fans, rotary vacuum furnaces, centrifugal loading devices, etc.

We moved into the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in 2002 to provide assistance to the rapidly-expanding Southeast Asian motorcycle and automobile market. In 2012, we built our own factory and we have extensively relocated our personnel here. It has now become an important base for supplying products to Thailand as well as to the rapidly growing ASEAN/Indian market.

History
1910 Founder Saburo Nomura was born as the second son to the owners of the Yokohama Iron Works. (Born on December 20, deceased at the age of 84) 1928 After graduating from the Kanagawa Prefectural Industrial Technical School where he studied mechanical engineering, he joined Mitsubishi Heavy

Industries as responsible of tank design. 1934 Joined the Rikuo Internal Combustion Engine Motorcycle Co., Ltd., as designer of sidecar-equipped military vehicles. 1941 Nomura Seiki (Ltd.) was established at Kawasaki and operated as a munitions factory until the end of the war. 1955 Japan's first manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders was inaugurated and, thanks to the technologies mastered up to its point and successful management, its main customers include Toshiba Machine, IHI, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. 1963 In December the factory was completely destroyed by a fire started within our own premises, leading to interruption of services and forced shut down of activities. 1965 Re-entered business as NAMBU IRONWORKS Ltd. The limitations inherent to being a subcontracting company become evident leading to a move away from subcontracting. 1982 1990 In March, a factory was built in Ota ward, Tokyo. In October, the company name was changed to NAMBU CO., LTD. Capital was increased to 58 million yen (JPY). 1995 2000 2002 In June, Kazushi Nomura, was appointed as second-generation Representative Director. Factories are organized from No. 1 to No. 6. In February, NAMBU CYL (THAILAND) CO., LTD. was established. 2006 In June, NAMBU CYL (THAILAND) CO., LTD. was transferred to Ota Techno Park. In December, the Hamamatsu factory was established in Hamamatsu city's Kita ward, in Shizuoka Prefecture. 2007 2009 In August, the Hamamatsu factory was moved to Hamamatsu city's Hamakita ward. In April, the ISO9001: 2008 and ISO14001: 2004 certifications are obtained. In June, a sales office was installed in the Hamamatsu factory. 2010 2012 2013 2014 In April, NAMBU CYL. (CHANGZHOU) CO., LTD. was established in China. In May, NAMBU CYL (THAILAND) CO., LTD. extensively relocated to our own factory. In January, third-generation Takahide Nomura became Representative Director. In October, Chinese subsidiary NAMBU CYL. (CHANGZHOU) CO., LTD. extensively relocated to our own factory. 2015 In May, the headquarters was moved to our own factory in Yokohama city's Kanazawa ward, in Kanagawa Prefecture.
